DE Network News
Special Education DE Collegial Network
Members of the network, plus other staff, have been working very busily on writing Life Skills materials for the new curriculum stage 6 subjects. The centres involved include Sydney Distance Education High School, Karabar Distance Education and Southern Cross School Distance Education. Some of the materials are being restructured from previous units, adjusted accordingly to meet course outcomes and student capabilities. Other materials will consist of new resources and topics, and will be written as entire new units.
All centres have been emailed to ascertain progress and as soon as replies come in, we will be able to determine any gaps that need to be filled.
Please contact, Nancy McAndrew, Coordinator Special Education DE Collegial Network, on 02 6618 7686, for more information.
GATS DE Collegial Network News
Recently, Hedda Whifield, coordinator GATS DE Collegial Network, attended the Cu=yberkids Conference held in Sydney. This conference, which had the focus on online issues, was organised by The Generation Next team. Hedda said the presentations were more engaging than she ever imagined.
Dr Goodwin, who presented at the conference and has delivered workshops to schools in the past, was originally a kindergarten teacher. She brings her past knowledge and experiences to her current views. Please read this newsletter for more information.
Hedda would like to offer her support to and network with other schools across our distance education and access program schools. She is happy to provide more information and further newsletter updates.
Please contact Hedda Whitfield, Coordinator GATS DE Collegial Network on 02 6681 0300.
