The NSW Department of Education & Communities will deliver an Asia Literacy in Schools Forum in Sydney on Monday August 11. The forum is designed for all educators interested in ensuring staff, students and the broader school community have opportunities to develop Asia capabilities. The forum has the support of NSW Catholic and Independent sectors. The forum will feature two outstanding keynote presentations:

  • Jane Hutcheon, one of Australia’s leading journalists and current host of the ABC’s One-plus-One program. Jane is former ABC correspondent in China, the Middle East and Europe.
  • James Hudson is currently Chief Executive Office of NSW Branch of the Australia China Business Council. He was formerly China and East Asia Advisor at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation [CSIRO].

Both will share their perspectives on what Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia means for young Australians in the Asian Century. Presentations from NSW schools and the Asia Education Foundation will support Jane and James. See the link above for registration details. AEF, along with the NSW Department of Education & Communities looks forward to welcoming you to the forum.
